Root Stock:

Pinot Noir may be one the toughest grapes to grow, but it is well worth the investment. This grape produces a dry, delicate, pinkish red lighter-bodied wine. Its flavors are sweet red berries, plums, tomatoes, cherries, and at times an earthy or woody flavor, depending on growing conditions. Requires 2000-2500 growing degree days and does best when it ripens under cool, dry conditions. Pinot Noir pairs well with poultry, beef, fish, ham, lamb, and pork.  Pairs well with creamy sauces, and spicy seasonings as well.
